Saint Felix is home to a five-lane, 25m pool with extensive access and coaching. Each student can benefit from dedicated swimming sessions throughout the week.
Swimming Opportunities at Saint Felix
All Saint Felix Students from Nursery to Year 6 swim once per week as part of their normal timetable. This is focused on the four main strokes – front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. We also incorporate life saving skills such as treading water, floating and rescues as it is an essential life skill. In year 7 and Year 8, students swim once a week during the autumn and spring terms. They use their swimming slot for other sport in the summer term. Swimming for fitness is also available as a co-curricular option for students from Y7 to Y12.
Targeted at Preparatory aged students, those wishing to further improve their swimming capabilities can engage in the Learn to Swim programme offered outside of school. This is run by Katherine Ince. For students who have achieved Stage 6 in the Swim England Award Scheme and are wishing to swim competitively, Saint Felix is partnered with Team Waveney Swim Club. The club trains at Saint Felix, Bungay and Waterlane pools, with sessions differentiated by age and ability.
Whether your child is just starting out or already competing at a high level, their swimming programme will be tailored to their abilities, with consistent encouragement and training drills to help them improve and develop their skills.
Exciting opportunities for swimming Scholarships
Offering up to 50% tuition fee discount, our scholarship opportunities recognise an individual’s achievements and abilities. Students who are already swimming competitively and who would like to be considered for a Sport-Swimming Scholarship may submit their swim times.
