Saint Felix School, Southwold is celebrating the success of its 2016 year 13 cohort who have all achieved the grades required to confirm a place at their first choice university.
With 100% grade A or A* in several subjects including Latin and Ancient History, and a 93% pass rate across the board, headteacher James Harrison is delighted with this year’s results. “We are extremely pleased with this year’s results. It’s testament to the hard work of students and staff alike that all of this year’s cohort will be starting the next step of their education at the university of their choice.”
AS results also gave cause for celebration, particularly for pupils including Rosie Kilvey from Reydon who achieved five As. Fellow students Jess Westlake, also from Reydon, and Sophie Bodmer from Lowestoft each achieved four As. “On the basis of their AS results,” Mr Harrison comments “our expectations for next year’s A level results are just as high, if not higher”.
Tom Collis from Southwold, head boy for the past academic year, has secured a place at Newcastle to read medicine with two A*s and one A, while head girl Emily Whyte from Ilkeshall is heading to Exeter University to read Classics having gained one A*, one A and one B. Both students started at Saint Felix in the nursery department aged two and have progressed through the pre-prep and prep schools. Caitlin Dobson from Lowestoft who joined the senior school aged 11 will be taking up a place at Homerton College, Cambridge to read Education and English based on her two A* and one A results.
