Personalised Learning

Personalised Learning

Saint Felix School ensures that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and personally. With an exceptional commitment to inclusivity, the school offers specialised assistance for students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). At Saint Felix, we believe every student deserves an opportunity to excel, and we are here to make that possible for all.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

At Saint Felix School, we take pride in providing exceptional tuition and support for international students with English as an Additional Language (EAL). Our programme ensures a smooth transition into school life, starting with an assessment of each student’s English language ability upon entry. Our EAL induction eases new international students into the school community and introduces them to the local area through engaging trips to local museums.

Our dedicated EAL staff build strong relationships with students, identifying special needs and concerns while liaising with other staff, including Heads of Year, House Parents, and Medical Staff, to provide comprehensive support.

The EAL department at Saint Felix School strives to create a warm and friendly yet exacting environment, supporting the linguistic, academic, and social needs of our international students, preparing them for future opportunities both in the UK and overseas.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Saint Felix School’s Learning Support Department offers specialised services that cater to diverse learning needs, ensuring a tailored approach to each student’s educational journey, regardless of their challenges.

Tailored Support for Diverse Requirements

We provide comprehensive support for an extensive spectrum of learning, communication, and social-emotional needs. From supporting Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SENDs) to offering personalised classroom assistance, we provide consistent support at every step.

We can support learners with a range of SENDs, including cognition and learning, communication and interaction, sensory and physical, and social, emotional and mental health.

Empowering Achievement Through Inclusion

Our department strives to break down barriers that hinder learning. We believe in “levelling the playing field” by empowering students to overcome challenges. Through our specialised interventions and support, we foster an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

A Hub of Possibilities

Our purpose-built Learning Hub enhances our support provision, augmenting the curriculum for learners of all abilities. This innovative space is central to individualised learning experiences, enabling us to nurture every child’s unique strengths, passions, and interests.

Holistic Pastoral Care

Beyond academics, we prioritise the holistic well-being of our students. Our Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) form strong bonds with their students, offering targeted 1:1 pastoral care, ensuring each child feels understood, supported, and valued as an individual.

Unveiling Potential, Celebrating Success

Our achievements speak volumes about our commitment. With remarkable successes, from improved exam results for SEN students to significant value-added progress, our dedicated and knowledgeable team consistently push boundaries to help every child flourish.

In partnership with families, we create a supportive, nurturing, and enriching environment where students can excel and embrace their unique journey, ensuring a bright future filled with limitless possibilities.
