OLD FELICIANS AGM AND LUNCH AT THE MANSION HOUSE

The Old Felicians’ AGM and lunch was held on Monday 12 March 2018 at The Mansion House, London, by kind permission of Old Felician, Samantha Bowman, Lady Mayoress.

Around seventy OFs and guests, former heads, teachers and the chairman of the school’s Governors attended the event.    The AGM was held in the Old Ballroom, a light and airy room with elaborate plasterwork representing, amongst other items, musical instruments.    The Salon with its stunning row of sparkling chandeliers was the venue for a reception before moving to lunch in the grand Egyptian Room with its giant columns, marble statues and gilded ceiling.     The centrepiece of each table was a precious gold cup surrounded by menus bearing the school’s crest and it certainly was the most impressive setting for a delicious lunch.

Samantha gave an interesting insight into her life at the Mansion House as well as amusing memories of her days at Saint Felix.   She was presented with a volume compiled by former headmistresses Fran D’Alcorn and Margaret Angus containing details of the four Old Felicians who have been Lady Mayoress, there was also a photograph of Samantha presenting a bouquet to one of her predecessors.   Are four Lady Mayoresses a record for one school?
