On April 19th, Year 8 ventured out to visit the Sainsbury Centre of Visual Arts, to kick start their summer Art project.
Students were divided into teams and are were set the challenge of recording four different artefacts from the permanent collection. Students observed and drew from a number of historical objects in relation to their animal theme, from Walrus masks, to Crocodile skull trophies. Seun Oridupa, Mia Devonshire, Ryan Bland and Bruce Yang worked particularly well in the space, taking time to record intricate detail within their drawings, and make note of relevant factual information relating to their selected objects. Year 8 will now use their drawings to inform their animal sculptures this term. Special thanks goes to Mrs. Every who kindly drove the minibus and accompanied us on the art trip.
