On Wednesday 14th November our U11 Rugby team travelled to Town Close School.
Rory Hunt, Year 6, has written a match report from the afternoon.
Match Report, Saint Felix U11 Against Town Close and Wisbech School
This was one of the team’s best performances yet. Our first match was against Town Close and we scored first. As the match went on, they started to find their feet and the game was very close and physical until the last few minutes when they scored two quick tries to win 6-3. The score looked bad but we were in the match with a chance of winning until the end. We had a short rest then another match against Wisbech, who looked like a very big side which made us nervous. In the game we played as a very strong team and scored the first try by moving the ball around. Our defence was very strong and they did not score in the first half. Our tackling and rucking were much better than in other matches and at half time we were surprised to find that we were winning 3 – 0. When the second half started, we played even better and scored some more tries but then started to get tired and we let some of their big players push over. At the end the score was 6 – 4 and we went to match tea happy. Well done team, we played like a real team and the results were good.
