St Felix Swimming Club would like to share their summer successes.
French Regional Championships 2021
Marin De Villard competed at the Regional Summer Championships in Poitier in June. His first competitive outing in over 15 months saw him come away with 5 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal.
Gold: 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke, 400m Freestyle & 800m Freestyle
Silver: 100m Freestyle
French National Championships 2021
As a result of his swims in Poitier, Marin De Villard qualified and swam at the French National Championships in July, swimming personal best times in all three backstroke events.
He placed the following positions Nationally:
50m Backstroke: 10th
100m Backstroke: 6th
200m Backstroke: 8th
British Swimming Festival Swimming 2021
The following pupils who competed at the East Region Festival of Swimming in July and August 2021. Saint Felix swimmers won 6 Gold, 8 Silver and 2 Bronze medals over the four-day event. Congratulations to the following and it was good to see the return of racing:

Jude Gunner (Gold – 50m/100m/200m Butterfly + 400m IM, SIlver: 200m Freestyle + 200m IM + 400m Freestyle, Bronze: 100m Freestyle)
Wiliam Ellard (Gold – 50m Backstroke + 50m Freestyle, Silver – 50m/100m Butterfly + 100m Freestyle)
Ben Every (Bronze – 400m IM)
William Ellard also broke the Suffolk Junior (u/16) County Record on the 50m Freestyle (subject to ratification), a record that had stood for over 12 years.
A special mention to all the qualifiers who were unable to take part due to travelling home for Summer, being ill or injured. The 2020 – 2021 season was difficult for all sports but especially swimming with meets being cancelled for 18 months. We look forward to a return to competition this year.
