We are proud to share that our U16 Boys and U16 Girls Badminton teams will be joining our U14 Girls’ team in the Suffolk County Badminton Finals in January after winning the Area Cup!
Both teams recently competed against local schools and did so without dropping a single game.
Representing the U16 Boys were Jason Coles, Thomas Knowles, Daniel Franco-Key and Ryan Kennedy (Left to right). Competing in both the singles and doubles formats, this team were a testament to the hard work that they have put in, attending Badminton sessions both during and outside of the school day.
Representing the U16 Girls were Izzy Last, Charlotte Wiesinger, Olivia O’Connor and Lucia Franco-Key (Left to right). A group of talented young athletes that are able to apply transferable sports skills and use their athleticism across a range of sports, this team looks set to go from strength to strength as they will benefit from the guidance provided by Mrs Copestake, who was a former Junior International player herself.
We wish all three of the Saint Felix School teams every success in the next stage of the competition.
January will see the launch of a more comprehensive training programme for all of our aspirational young badminton players which we look forward to sharing more information about very soon.
