To mark Saint Felix School’s 125th anniversary in 2022, the school launched the first phase of a 5-year development plan, which included the transformation of Fawcett House into an exceptional boarding house for Sixth Form students.
The results speak for themselves with over 35 boarders now in residence! All bedrooms were redeveloped to create grown up spaces in light-filled rooms. Even in shared rooms, distinct areas for sleep and study have been created and all bathrooms were replaced to offer exceptional shower facilities.
Communal spaces were thought about with care and consideration for the needs of the boarders. The groundfloor offers a relaxed social space complete with pool table, TV, and plenty of seating. For relaxing after a busy week of lessons, the adjacent Cinema Room is very popular with the teenagers.
Saint Felix boarders are encouraged to be independent and the new kitchen allows them to be just that. With ample space to cook their own weekend meals or to reheat those delicious takeaway leftovers! The choice is theirs. A dedicated dining space now ensures mealtimes can be a sociable, family style event.
