Towards the end of 2023, as part of the significant changes that are occurring at Saint Felix, the entire school community was tasked with voting on five new school values that would not only represent our wonderful school but would give a clear sense of moral compass for our students and staff, whilst also guiding our thinking towards policies, procedures, initiatives and innovations. Deciding on just five values that fully represent Saint Felix and all that it offers was no mean feat. However, following an extensive and democratic voting process, our values were announced at the end of 2023. These are:
- Creativity
- Honesty
- Kindness
- Passion
- Respect
As we continue on our transformative journey, these core values will permeate every lesson, activity and decision.
The values have been welcomed positively by students from all areas of the school. “I think Kindness, respect and honesty are good values because they make sure we take care of each other and help each other. Honesty means we focus on telling the truth. Respect is important because we should look out for each other”, Evangelos, Year 3.
“I think people in the school will change for the better because of the new school values. They are good values and will help people to be even more friendly with each other, enjoy school life more and have more fun.” Lucas, Year 4.
Year 13 student and Head of School, Henry, said, “The two values that captivate the essence of Saint Felix for me are passion and creativity. Embracing passion and creativity within the school environment allows every student to unlock their full potential as they make their own unique journey through the school, aiding their own individual growth whilst equally transforming the entire community around them. When both passion and creativity become the driving force for chasing our dreams and pursuing our goals, nothing can stop us.”
With a comprehensive curriculum review underway and exciting new co-curricular opportunities being planned, the new values will be at the core of each decision, marking a new, promising era for Saint Felix School.
