ARMISTICE LECTURES

11 November 2018 will mark the centenary of the Armistice that brought an end to the bloodshed of the First World War, which had lasted over four years and claimed millions of lives.

Dr John Greenacre from the University of Suffolk will put some of the events of 1914 to 1918 into context through a series of illustrated lectures. He will use the documentary legacy of the First World War to explore four themes, each with a local connection to Suffolk and, in the process, explain some of the myths and mysteries of the ‘war to end all wars.
