On Sunday 2nd February, Brooke Oram took part in the final round of the Inter Club Competition in Framlingham.
This event was Cross Country as the previous rounds consisted of a road race, track and field day and sports hall athletics. Brooke was representing Great Yarmouth Athletics Club and was competing against other clubs such as Framlingham Flyers, Waveney Athletics Club, Bungay Black Dog Running Club and Beccles and Bungay Harriers.
Going into the fourth and final round, Brooke was in 1st position on the leaderboard with 2nd place only 7 points behind, so it was all to play for. In the cross country race Brooke finished 5th overall (boys/girls) and was 1st girl back. This is very impressive considering the day before she was in Northampton representing Suffolk at the Anglian Cross Country Championships.
At the end of the competition all of the points from this event and the previous rounds were added together to ascertain the individual winners for each boy and girl age category.
Congratulations to Brooke who was crowned the overall winner of the U15 girls age category.
