This Christmas, the Choral Society will perform two short choral works based on popular carols from the English folksong tradition, one by Vaughan Williams, the other by his contemporary, Holst.

Both are tuneful and by turns joyous, contemplative and celebratory, as are the well-known solos and choruses from Part 1 of Messiah, by the ‘adopted’ English composer, Handel. The audience will have the opportunity to join the choir in favourite Christmas hymns and carols and enjoy traditional Christmas fare during the interval.
