Two groups of Year 6 students had short ‘taster’ lessons in art today as part of their experience in the Senior Department.
They learnt about the paper ‘cut outs’ by Matisse, and after reviewing and understanding the images, and use of formal elements such as shape, colour and composition, students responded by creating their own collages, inspired by natural, organic coral and leaf shapes.
Each student’s work has been combined together to produce two large scale pieces.
The groups worked very well and showed good potential as future artists! Hope they enjoyed their day!
