Saint Felix Celebrates
January 11, 2022

Year 13, 12 and 11 pupils were offered a fantastic chance to learn how to give first responder CPR today in an activity instigated by pupils Josh and Bella.

Josh, Head Boy of Sixth Form, had already received the CPR training as part of being a trained Lifeguard and wanted to share the opportunity with his fellow pupils. Josh aims to study for a Paramedic degree after he leaves Saint Felix later this year.

“I noticed that patient outcomes were significantly better in countries where First Responder training is offered in schools – in particular Norway where recovery rates are 1 in 4” Josh said.

Activity support was provided by Bridget Every, Head of Learning Support and Swimming coach at the school.

Equipment was supplied by the Waveney Surf Life Saving Club.
