November 20, 2019

We are delighted to welcome Professor David Baker, eminent organist and founder of the Halifax Organ Academy, to present his popular organ workshops to groups of children from both the Prep School and the Senior School on Friday 22nd November.

The children will have a hands-on experience of appreciating the way a pipe organ is constructed and how pipes of different lengths, materials and design create such a wide range of sounds and colours in one instrument.

Professor Baker will also demonstrate the splendours of the large digital organ in the School Chapel in a short lunchtime recital at 1.15pm of organ ‘pops’, including Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor and Widor’s mighty – and virtuosic – Toccata.
