Saint Felix Celebrates
August 22, 2019

Saint Felix School students achieved excellent GCSE examination results, with 100% grade 9 – 4 (equivalent to the old A* – C grades) in English Language and Literature and 97% in Mathematics.

Overall, 92.8% of entries across all subjects were awarded grades between 9 – 4.

The school also saw 100% 9 – 4 grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics; Ancient History, Greek and Latin; Drama, Music and Spanish showing the school’s strength in a wide range of subjects.

We are proud of the individual accomplishments, including students who have gained several top Grade 9s.  Notable successes include Mollie Barrett-Kelly who gained seven grade 9s and Joanna Lin with two grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s.

Headmaster, Mr James Harrison, said: “These results are the best results for many years at
Saint Felix. We have made a lot of changes to assessment, tracking, teaching and learning over the past couple of years and we are seeing the fruits of these. These results put us amongst the best independent schools in the region; we are happy to be there and we will stay here for many years. What is pleasing, is to see success for all students regardless of nationality, sex or special educational needs.  Almost 40% of grades were awarded at the old A*/A level meaning that these students achieved marks in the top 10% nationally.  For a small school this is simply astonishing.”
