Ben Newman – 1st on left
On Sunday 30th September Suffolk U16’s travelled to Dyke Golf Club in Brighton to play against Hertfordshire and Hampshire in the U16 South Eastern Group League Final. Despite having a great season Suffolk finished third.
After a tight finish Hampshire and Hertfordshire were all square at the end of play and so the result came down to how they both fared against Suffolk. Hampshire came out eventual winners having beaten Suffolk by 1 more point than Hertfordshire.
The stand out performance of the day came from Suffolk’s Max Weaver who birdied the last to beat both opponents by just one hole. Ben Newman put in another strong performance to win Suffolk’s only other point.
The overall scores were: Hertfordshire drew with Hampshire, Hampshire beat Suffolk 7 points to 1, Hertfordshire beat Suffolk 6 points to 2.
