Fred Whyte-Wood in Year 6 has written this match report.

On the 30th of January the U10’s and U11’s A team had a football match against Finborough at Home. Following a warm up led by our new coach Mr Chapman we took our positions ready for the game. We made a good start with some great enthusiasm, teamwork and lots of encouragement from our Coach. Within the first 20 minutes Finborough scored two goals.

Knowing we needed to up our game, we pulled together even more and secured our first goal made by Rory. This making the score in the first half 2 / 1 to Finborough. In the second half Finborough scored another 2 goals making the final score 4 / 1. Despite the team feeling slightly disappointed that with the scores, it mustn’t go unnoticed in how close we were to achieving more goals because of how well the boys worked together as a team, performing great defence skills, midfielding tactics and attack. Some fantastic footwork was demonstrated by William and Rory, with great passes made by Tate and Hamish which certainly raised cheers from the sidelines.

It was a good game overall, points to focus on for our next game but all the team should feel proud of themselves. Mr Chapman certainly was impressed and gave us good feedback to put into action for our next game.
