Saint Felix Celebrates
May 7, 2019

Saint Felix U14 Cricket team travelled to Ipswich on Thursday 2nd May to play St. Joseph’s College in the first round of the Suffolk Cup.

Saint Joseph’s elected to bat first and scored a creditable 131 for 6 in twenty overs. Saint Felix employed six bowlers who all stuck to their task. Pick of the bowlers were F Barbrook 2 for 19, and R Bland 2 for 22. Bland’s figures also include a great sharp caught and bowled.

The team were positive and supportive of each other in the field and gave themselves a realistic target to chase. St Joseph’s took an early wicket however the Barbrook brothers firmly entrenched themselves at the crease, running brilliantly to keep the scoreboard ticking over and the field under pressure. F Barbrook finished on 33 N.O., and H Barbrook carried his bat on 48.

Rain affected play and while on 108 with six overs remaining St Joseph’s sportingly conceded the game due to pitch conditions and the commanding position Saint Felix had achieved.

Saint Felix can now look forward to the next round with anticipation!
