Pupils in Years 7 and 8 visited Mersea Island Activity Centre in Essex for a 4-day residential this week and had a fantastic time.
The children enjoyed staying in the log cabin camp which is right next to the estuary. Each day was an adventure for them, whether simply shooting arrows with precision or conquering personal goals such as climbing the wall tower to the top or taking the giant swing to the highest level at 18 metres. Each child was able to take themselves out of their usual comfort zone and experience a huge sense of self-achievement, as well as boosting their self-confidence.
Evenings were fun and new inter-year friendships formed during social time, culminating in a huge conga dance around the camp lead by Mr Farrands.
