At Saint Felix School, we believe that education extends beyond the traditional classroom. The Saint Felix Diploma is designed to equip our students with essential skills, knowledge, and experiences that prepare them for success. This unique programme provides structured opportunities for personal development, problem-solving, confidence-building, and independent learning, complementing our academic curriculum.

 

A Broad and Enriching Curriculum

The Saint Felix Diploma provides an exciting blend of core and optional modules, ensuring students develop valuable skills beyond the traditional academic subjects. These modules cover a wide range of areas, including:

  • Creative and Technical Skills:

Bronze Arts Award, STEM and Coding, F1 for Schools, Film, Animation, Digital Art

  • Scientific and Practical Knowledge:

Bronze CREST Award, Car Maintenance, Financial Skills, Cookery Skills, Mindfullness, Yoga, Astronomy, Environmental Science

  • Independent Research and Critical Thinking:

Foundation Projects Qualification (FPQ), Higher Projects Qualification (HPQ), Extended Projects Qualification (EPQ), Debating, Public Speaking, Exam Skills, Global Politics, Sociology

  • Outdoor and Leadership Activities:

Orienteering, Bushcraft, Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, John Muir Award

  • Competitions and Challenges:

Art Competition, Public Speaking Competion, STEAM and Coding Competition, Historical Fiction Competition, Environmental Science Challenge, Essay Competition, CREST Superstar Challenge, The Gardineer Business and Entrepreneurship Challenge, Young Entrepreneur’s Challenge

A Progressive Journey

The Saint Felix Diploma is an integral part of student life from Year 6 through to Year 13, with dedicated time allocated each week:

  • Years 7-9: One period per week
  • Years 10-13: Two periods per week

Throughout this journey, students will work towards achieving progressively advanced awards:

  • Bronze Award – Completed by the end of Year 6
  • Silver Award – Completed by the end of Year 9
  • Gold Award – Completed by the end of Year 11
  • Platinum Diploma – Awarded upon graduation in Year 13

Each level of the diploma can be achieved with a Pass, Merit, or Distinction, recognising the effort, achievement and excellence of our students.

 

Careers and Higher Education Guidance

A key component of the Saint Felix Diploma is the integration of a revised Careers and Higher Education programme, ensuring students receive expert advice and guidance at each stage of their journey. From interview skills and higher education preperation to UCAS applications and professional pathways, our students leave Saint Felix with a clear sense of direction and preparedness for the future.
