Mrs Halcyon Meldrum
Head of Boarding
Welcome to our Boarding Community.
The Somerville and Gardiner Boarding House accommodates those students in Years 7-11. This house has 4 shared social rooms downstairs, allowing the students to choose where they wish to relax in the evenings. Upstairs, the boys sleep in rooms on the Gardiner side of the house whereas the girls sleep in rooms on the Somerville side of the house. Our other boarding house, Fawcett House, which accommodates both girls and boys in Years 12 and 13 was newly renovated 2024. Our boarders experience a home-from-home boarding experience with a warm, close-knit family atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and supported. Boarding houses are staffed with House Parents, who live on campus full-time, and who get to know each student individually, offering exceptional pastoral care. Here, we cherish each boarder as an individual and go the extra mile to meet their unique needs, reassuring families back home that their child is in safe hands, 24 hours a day.
We offer various Boarding Options tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students and their families. Whether you require the full-boarding experience, a one-night stay, or something in between, our boarding provision ensures that every student can find the right balance of independence, academic focus, and family time.
Our dedicated boarding staff work hand in hand with teachers to ensure that each student reaches their full academic and personal potential.
Saint Felix School’s safe, enchanting location, situated near the picturesque seaside town of Southwold, offers our boarding community a tranquil escape from bustling city life. Sitting in 75 acres of countryside in an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty, our boarders can find inspiration and focus while creating lifelong memories with friends.
Our enticing evening and weekend activity programme ensures our boarders have plenty opportunities to explore and enjoy new experiences. From mid-week adventures to exciting weekend trips, we organise visits to nearby cities, such as Norwich and Cambridge, fun and entertaining activities like bowling and cinema outings, and opportunities to delve into the charms of our local area.
We warmly welcome international students who wish to improve their language skills and experience a British education. Our diverse school community celebrates cultural exchange, enriching the lives of all boarders and broadening their perspectives.
